Centennial College: Planning and project management
Exciting developments at Ontario's first community college have led to a dramatic rethinking of its facility needs. Among the capital projects under consideration is the development of a satellite campus for the newly accredited Culture and Heritage Institute, part of the Tourism and Hospitality School, on the site of the former Guild Inn. Restoration of the commercial and cultural assets on this beautiful site would address the interests of the City, the community, and the College through a model 3-P partnership designed to provide practical learning opportunities in an inspiring setting. It would also provide the College with hotel, restaurant, and conference facilities to support the schedule of international events planned by the Institute and other Schools. A symposium on built heritage preservation was successfully held on the site in June. NetGain's role is to assist in the sourcing of funds for the capital project and to prepare a proposal in response to an anticipated RFP from the City of Toronto to develop the site; and, to assist in the integration of this and other facility plans as part of an overall space strategy for the College as a whole.
