Ontario College of Art and Design

NetGain Partners Inc. has conducted two studies on behalf of the College to establish a new vision and test the willingness of its alumni to support it. The visioning exercise was based on interviews, focus groups, surveys, and public meetings with staff, faculty, students, and alumni to establish new directions for the College's growth as an institution and as a force in shaping art and design in Canada.

The study of alumni attitudes went much deeper, testing the new vision against the experiences of students who had attended over a period of 50 years, segregated by decade and by department. The result was a dynamic representation of the ways in which the College's students found their way into the workforce, the career paths they tended to follow and their current occupations. This combination of motivational factors, such as satisfaction with the college relative to competitors, coupled with demographic factors, such as income and family structure, was an essential first step in the targeting of a subsequent capital campaign at specific segments of the College's 6,500 alumni.

Case Study

Shortly after amalgamation, the new City of Toronto engaged NetGain Partners Inc. to undertake a study of large performing arts venues and the role that local government could play in stimulating activity in the commercial theatre industry.
